Owner Andrew Rossell is a graduate of Western Michigan University and has over seventeen years of civil engineering experience in a wide range of tribal, federal, municipal, commercial, residential and industrial development projects. He is particularly knowledgeable of storm water, zoning, and permitting guidelines throughout Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. Andrew is actively involved with the Southwestern Michigan Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) as a director, and past president. Andrew is married and has two cute little girls.
Dan Lewis, P.E.
Director of Business Development | Senior Civil Engineer
Dan Lewis, P.E., is a graduate of Calvin College with over nineteen years of civil engineering experience in commercial, industrial, residential, and municipal projects. He joined AR in 2018 after a 17-year start to his career at Prein&Newhof. His expertise is in commercial and industrial development projects. Dan has unique strengths in public presentations and negotiating with necessary parties for your project, including easements, if required. Dan is a Notary and can assist with easement acquisitions from beginning to end. He is active in the ASCE, ACEC (American Council of Engineering Companies), and is also a Rotarian. He is active in leadership positions at his church, including volunteering as head of the finance committee for several years. Dan is married with two daughters. He takes interest in any activities his daughters are involved in, and also enjoys gardening and cooking.
jason raleigh, p.e.
Kalamazoo Team Leader | Senior Civil Engineer
Jason Raleigh, P.E., joined the AR Engineering team in 2017. He is a civil engineering graduate of Western Michigan University. Jason brings with him over a decade of engineering experience, focusing mainly on commercial and residential projects. Jason has also successfully completed many municipal road and utility projects, following them throughout the design and permitting phases and overseeing construction to ensure compliance with municipal and state requirements. His portfolio consists of small commercial and industrial projects to large complex subdivision developments and medical campuses. Jason is married and has two young daughters. Jason enjoys spending time outdoors with his family.
Whitney graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and began working at AR Engineering in 2016 serving as an EIT. During her time as a student, Whitney had gained other experiences while working as an intern for the City of Portage and Michigan Department of Transportation, and was actively involved in the ASCE student chapter and the concrete canoe team at WMU. Whitney is also a graduate from Kirtland Community College in Roscommon, Michigan. Whitney and her husband, Brendan, are both from West Branch, Michigan and they currently reside in their first Kalamazoo home with their two cats, River and Nero.
Spencer is a graduate of Western Michigan University, graduating magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Spencer joined AR Engineering as an intern in 2015 and was hired full-time in January of 2016 and is a remarkable addition to the team as an EIT. He is currently working on many different projects throughout Michigan and Indiana. During Spencer’s tenure at WMU, he was actively involved with the WMU Chapter of the ASCE and is now serving as Vice President of the Southwestern Michigan Branch of the ASCE. Spencer is married and both he and his wife, Shannon, are active in their church and enjoy spending time camping and hiking.
Andrew joined the AR team in the Summer of 2017 as a summer intern. He is a current student at Western Michigan University in the Civil Engineering program. Andrew had grown up in Detroit, MI before coming to Kalamazoo to attend Western Michigan University. His previous work experience includes materials testing as a concrete tester. When he is not studying for classes, he is actively involved in the concrete canoe team and the ASCE Student Chapter. Andrew enjoys spending time up north, canoeing and hiking through the woods.
