Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager

 

AR Engineering has an immediate full-time opening for a Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager.  This role includes leadership of the design team from acquiring work, through a successful proposal, to completion of the project.  This includes coordination with our survey team, engineers, and sub-consultants.  They will interact with clients and municipal agencies, ensuring a quality experience for our clients. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Civil engineering design and project management of commercial, municipal, industrial, and residential projects including studies, preliminary and final design, permitting, and construction oversight

  2. Point person of contact to clients

  3. Management and mentorship of project team

  4. Define and understand scope of work, and direct and supervise the project team

  5. Prepare proposals and manage projects, including budgets and schedules

Qualifications & Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

  2. Michigan Civil Engineering PE license preferred

  3. 3-7+ years of related experience desired

  4. Experience with the study, planning, design, and project management of commercial, municipal, industrial, and residential projects desired

  5. Civil construction administration experience (RFI’s, shop drawing review, and attendance at construction progress meetings)

  6. Experience in client management, including preparing and meeting budgets and schedules

  7. Experience in developing and maintaining client relationships

  8. Project Management including proposal preparation and design team leadership

  9. Knowledge in municipal government practices and regulations

  10. Valid driver’s license

  11. AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred

  12. Strong work ethic

Professional Surveyor

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and licensed Professional Land Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a “hands on” leader, responsible for survey-related activities and ensuring the successful execution of projects from start to finish.  You will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be meticulous in your attention to detail, and possess a commitment to the success of your team and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with management of the survey department including staff, equipment and workload, providing professional and technological direction.

  • Develop proposals and estimates for land survey, topographic survey and construction staking clients.

  • Oversee and manage land surveying projects ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and regulatory compliance.

  • Provide excellent communication between clients, staff, and government agencies.

  • Perform survey field work, including site topographic survey, boundary survey and construction staking.

  • Prepare and review boundary and topographical surveys, ALTA/ACSM surveys, subdivision plans, and easement exhibits.

  • Create legal descriptions and manage survey projects to ensure timely and accurate completion.

  • Maintain quality control measures to verify survey data accuracy and completeness.

  • Provide guidance on current and emerging surveying technologies and methods.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics or equivalent

  • Registration as Professional Surveyor in the State of Michigan
