2026 Block Kids
On January 31, a group of elementary school children met at the Climax/Scotts Elementary School to participate in the annual Block Kids event led by NAWIC. Members from the AR Engineering team volunteered as judges. Students were challenged to use just 100 legos, a piece of string, a piece of aluminum foil, a piece of paper, and a rock to build something to benefit their community. It was amazing to see where the kid’s creativity took them to solve real world issues!
2026 WMU Concrete Canoe
AR Engineering attended the annual WMU Concrete Canoe casting day and the team had a great turnout with several alumni on-hand for support. This was another great opportunity for AR Engineering to give back to WMU and support the student chapter. The WMU Concrete Canoe Team, along with Timber Strong and Steel Bridge, are attending the ASCE Eastern Great Lakes Student Conference in April. Go Broncos!
ASCE SW Michigan Chapter Holiday Party
Several AR Engineering team members attended the ASCE Southwestern Michigan Branch Holiday Party in January, held at Revel and Roll West in Kalamazoo. The event featured food and bowling, along with a presentation by Advanced Drainage Systems. The gathering brought together local civil engineering professionals, students, and community partners for a relaxed evening of connection and celebration. Our team was glad to participate and support ASCE’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the engineering community in Southwest Michigan.
